3 Ways to Save a Place on Nifl
Nifl gives you three different ways to save places — from the map, by searching, or straight from TikTok and Instagram. Here's when to use each one.
Every Place Deserves a Home
You discover places everywhere — scrolling TikTok, walking through a new neighbourhood, reading a recommendation from a friend. The problem isn't finding them. It's keeping them.
Nifl gives you three different ways to save a place, each designed for a different moment of discovery. Whether you're browsing a map, searching for somewhere specific, or watching a video on social media, there's a method that fits.
Here's the overview — and when to use each one.
1. Quick Add from the Map
Best for: Browsing, trip planning, dropping pins on the fly.
Open the map in Nifl, find the area you're interested in, and press and hold anywhere to drop a pin. A save sheet appears — name it, pick a label, assign it to a collection, and you're done. The whole thing takes seconds.
This is Nifl's fastest saving method. It's built for the moment when you're exploring a map and thinking "I want to go there" — before you've even looked up the name.
Use it when:
- You're browsing a city before a trip and want to mark areas to explore
- You know roughly where something is but not the exact name
- You want to capture a general spot — a street corner, a park, a neighbourhood
- Speed matters more than precision
2. Search and Add to a Collection
Best for: Precision, when you know the name, building out detailed collections.
Open any collection in Nifl, tap the plus icon, and search for a place by name or address. Nifl pulls in real place data automatically — including the website and address — so your pin is complete from the start.
This is the method for intentional collection building. You know what you want to save, and you want it saved properly.
Use it when:
- A friend recommended somewhere specific and you want to capture it
- You read about a place and know the name
- You want the most complete pin — with website, address, and your own notes
- You're sitting down to build out a full collection deliberately
3. Save from TikTok or Instagram
Best for: Capturing places from social media before you forget them.
See a place on TikTok or Instagram? Tap share, select Nifl, and the video is sent to your Imports tab. Nifl extracts the place from the content — you review it, confirm the match, add a note, choose a collection, and save.
This is the method that stops the scroll-and-forget cycle. The moment you see something worth visiting, it's already on its way to your collection.
Use it when:
- You find a place in a TikTok video and don't want to lose it
- Someone's Instagram Reel features a restaurant, café, or hidden gem
- You're discovering places through social media and want a system to catch them
- You'd rather share once than screenshot and forget
Which Method Should You Use?
All three methods end in the same place — a pin inside a collection, visible on your map, ready to schedule or surface by proximity. The difference is how you get there.
| Situation | Best method | |---|---| | Exploring a map, dropping pins as you go | Quick add from map | | You know the exact name of the place | Search and add | | You found it on TikTok or Instagram | Quick Shares | | Trip planning — marking areas to explore | Quick add from map | | Building a curated collection | Search and add | | You're scrolling and don't want to lose it | Quick Shares |
Most Nifl users end up using all three regularly. Quick add for spontaneous saves, search for precision, and Quick Shares for everything they find on social media.
Start Saving
Every place you mean to visit deserves more than a screenshot or a mental note. Pick the method that fits the moment, and Nifl handles the rest — organising it, reminding you, and making sure you actually go.
